Warrant Execution Leads to Seizure of Drugs and Guns
What started out as an attempt to serve a warrant led to a cache of weapons and narcotics. Shreveport City Marshal's Deputies went to an apartment in the 4300 block of Lakeshore Drive to execute a misdemeanor arrest warrant but, when they got there, the occupants wouldn't let them in. Eventually, though, they were allowed into the apartment and caught a strong odor of marijuana. After a search, they found seven grams of suspected marijuana and about a gram of counterfeit crack cocaine. They found five guns -- including a fully-loaded semi-automatic rifle. And they found digital scales and dozens of clear plastic zipper bags. Three people have been arrested on a laundry list of drug and weapons charges.
