Viral Sensation Oliver Anthony Announces Louisiana Tour Date
Viral music sensation Oliver Anthony has announced a world tour that will include dates in Scotland, Norway, London, Belfast, Ireland...and Louisiana.
The singer-songwriter from Virginia became an overnight sensation in August of this year when his video for "Rich Men North of Richmond" was uploaded to Youtube. The song spiked to #1 on the iTunes charts in just days, including rising to the #1 overall spot (regardless of music genre) at its peak. The song also went to #1 on Spotify and Apple Music in the United States as well.
All of that online sales success, and the views for the Youtube video, led to Anthony to the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Which made him the first musician ever to debut at #1 without any prior chart activity...in history.
After his instant success, Anthony was one of the hottest commodities in the live music world. But getting shows put together proved to be more difficult than anticipated. Anthony's inexperience in the music industry led to conflicts when trying to book live performances. Which meant shows that were booked had to be canceled after he told fans to not buy tickets.
But now, Anthony is pushing a full world tour.
One of the dates on that tour lands in Louisiana, but in a place you may not expect. With the record breaking success Anthony has had, you might expect a stop someplace like New Orleans or Baton Rouge. But Anthony's Louisiana date is set for March 8th, 2024 in Alexandria. He's currently scheduled to perform at the Rapides Parish Coliseum.
