SHREVEPORT, LA-   Vehicle Pursuit ends in arrest of Convicted Felon with Firearm

On March 3rd at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers from the Shreveport Police Department initiated a traffic stop at West Canal Boulevard and Amherst Street, which led to a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit concluded when the suspect vehicle crashed into a tree in the 6200 block of Quilen Boulevard.

Officers apprehended the driver, identified as 33-year-old Robert Clark. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered Clark in possession of an assault rifle. Further investigation revealed that Clark was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior felony convictions.

Robert Clark is currently in custody and faces multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and aggravated flight from an officer. Clark was treated by the Shreveport Fire Department for minor injuries sustained during the crash.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
