A tip to Bossier Crime Stoppers led police to 46-year-old Jeffrey Lee Paul Wood of Shreveport. He's been booked into the Bossier City Jail for bank fraud.


 

 

 

 

 

 

[UPDATE, Dec. 9, 2014] One of two men wanted for cashing counterfeit payroll checks at two Bossier City banks has turned himself in.

Police say 65-year-old Samuel Charles Smith of Shreveport surrendered to detectives after a relative saw his photo on the news. He's been booked into the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Facility on bank fraud charges. The other suspect is still on the run.


 

[ORIGINAL STORY, Dec 8, 2014]  The Bossier Financial Crimes Task Force and Bossier Crime Stoppers need the public's help identifying two men wanted for cashing counterfeit payroll checks.

The men were caught on surveillance cameras cashing the checks at Chase Bank branches in the 4300 block of Barksdale Boulevard and 2000 block of Airline Drive in the same day. Total amount of the bogus checks was over $8,400.

Anyone with information on the men and where they might be is urged to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at 318-424-4100. A cash reward is being offered if an arrest is made.
