This Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.  So the Caddo Sheriff's Office and Shreveport Police are teaming up again to help you clean out that medicine cabinet.

From ten until two Saturday, you can take your old, unwanted, and expired pharmaceuticals and other medications to Sheriff's Safety Town so they can be properly disposed of.  Deputies and officers will be accepting prescription and over-the-counter medications like tablets, capsules, and sealed liquids.  However, they won't be accepting intra-venous solutions, injectables, or needles.  All identifying information such as name, address, and prescription number should be removed first.

Law enforcement agencies around the country do this every year to bring national attention to the increase of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse and theft.
