Temps Expected to Dip into Low 20’s Tonight in SBC
Bitterly cold weather has arrived in Shreveport Bossier and it's going to get event colder tonight.
Richard Lewelling with the Weather Channel says our low temperature tonight could dip to 22 degrees. The record low for this date is 27. He does tell us we will warm back up into the 50's tomorrow afternoon. The system is bringing a little rain to our region for tomorrow afternoon, but the temps won't dip below freezing while the precip is around.
The low tomorrow night will be in the 30's but not cold enough to create any freezing rain or sleet during this arctic blast.
At least four deaths have been attributed to dangerous travel conditions caused by a snowstorm that swept through the Plains and Midwest on Monday.
The snow diminished as the system moved east on Tuesday, but school districts from Austin, Texas, to Buffalo, New York, delayed or canceled classes. More than 70 schools in Vermont, New Hampshire and New York were closed because of the cold.
On Monday alone, more than 1,400 flights were canceled into and out of Chicago's two big airports – O'Hare and Midway – according to FlightAware.
