Arctic Blast Headed Our Way – How Cold Will It Get?
A strong cold front is making its way across the country and this will bring temps below freezing in many areas. In fact, this front will deliver the coldest air of the season so far for many in the eastern half of the country.
The National Weather Service is reporting as many as 400 cities could hit record lows and Shreveport is on that list. The freeze is possible all the way to the Gulf Coast region.
In Havre, Montana, the temp dipped to -18 below which is a new record low for this date.
When will it arrive? The Weather Channel says it's already moving across the Northern Plains and upper Midwest and should arrive across the Deep South and East Coast on Tuesday.
Wednesday's highs may still be stuck in the 40s in the Deep South and the 50s in parts of North Florida and the northern Gulf Coast.
For Shreveport Bossier , we could see low temps in the 20's on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The season's first freeze will dip all the way into Houston and New Orleans.
