It is absolutely frigid outside in the Ark-La-Tex this morning. We are waking up to temperatures in the teens, with windchills in the single digits. That's the type of cold that makes you want to crawl back into bed and hibernate.

The Weather Channel says it was a bone-chilling 17 degrees in Shreveport, with a windchill around 5 degrees...which is honestly disrespectful. The infrastructure around here isn't built for this kind of cold, and neither are people's patience.

Five Places Warmer Than Shreveport Right Now

You expect to see these kinds of temperatures in the arctic circle, or maybe in a galaxy far, far away like on Hoth. But believe it or not...there are actual winter wonderlands across the globe that are currently warmer than what Shreveport is dealing with.

It is tough to swallow, but we found five specific spots that are stereotypically considered "freezing cities" that are actually warmer than Shreveport or Bossier City is right now. Check out these numbers, and try not to get too jealous of people living in the Arctic Circle.

Juneau, Alaska - 30 degrees

Vancouver, British Columbia - 32 degrees

Reykjavík, Iceland - 42 degrees

Arsuk, Greenland - 42 degrees

Stockholm, Sweden - 26 degrees

The Nordic Countries Are Beating Us Too

If getting beaten by Alaska and Canada wasn't bad enough, Shreveport is also losing to places that are famous for being frozen. Reykjavík is sitting at 42 degrees right now, which is literally 25 degrees warmer than it is in Bossier City.

It gets even worse when you look at Arsuk, Greenland which is also enjoying 42 degree weather, while Louisiana residents are searching for heavy coats. Even Stockholm is sitting at 26 degrees, making the Scandinavian winter seem like a mild inconvenience compared to this blast.
