Glover's proposal, which would mandate parity funding for Louisiana's safety net hospitals, would also call for an audit of the state's charity hospital system.

Glover has pointed out that safety net hospitals in Shreveport and Monroe get about thirty two cents on the dollar compared to the New Orleans facility.

State Senator Tarver says that the state budget, recently approved by the House Appropriations Committee will "destroy (Shreveport's) LSU med school."

Sen. Tarver holds firm to his assertion that BRF and University Health owe LSU Health Science Center over $14 million and BRF owes millions more to LSU-BR.

Landry has asked to enter the suit as a friend of the court , saying his goal is to protect the LSU Medical School in Shreveport.
