The Louisiana legislature is debating a bill that would allow any concealed carry permit holder to carry their weapon in a restaurant that serves alcohol.

Though he employs a fake Russian accent for the popular guns and explosives videos he uploads to YouTube, Kyle Myers (AKA FPSRussia) was on the receiving end of some very real and especially unwanted attention this week. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives carried out a raid on properties owned by Myers and his family on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, authorities found the body of a University of Central Florida student inside a dorm room, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. A campus spokeswoman said that there were also improvised explosive devices and additional weapons in the room.

Lots of talk about guns these days. Some even suggest that teachers should be allowed to have guns in their classrooms. This prompted Steve Monaghan, President of the Louisiana Federation of Teachers, to say that's a bad idea. But he went one step further, envisioning a scenario where a teacher having a rough day could use a gun as a disciplinary tool, or worse.
