The president of the Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association calls today's announcement that 30-million gallons of oil will be released from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve "disturbing." Former Congressman Chris John says it's another Obama administration inconsistency when it comes to energy policy. John says the Strategic Reserve was created for one purpose -- and that was to buffer against disruptions in oil supply such as might be caused by a Gulf Coast hurricane. Hundreds of millions of barrels of oil are stored in salt caverns along the Louisiana and Texas coasts.
