Crime in downtown Shreveport has been in the spotlight this week after a video surfaced showing a group of men approaching the driver of a pickup truck.

It happened early in the morning over the weekend and the video of the incident has gone viral. It shows the pickup driver getting out and getting into a confrontation with the men. You can also hear shots ring out. No one was wounded and police were not called at the time.

KEEL News contacted Shreveport's substitute Police Chief Ben Raymond to ask him about this case and find out what action will be taken.

Chief Raymond also told us he met with Mayor-Elect Adrian Perkins on Saturday to talk about his desire to stay on as Chief. He did tell us Perkins would have to call for a new civil service exam since current scores expire after 18 months. Current Chief Alan Crump is on medical leave until at least March 19th.
