The annual youth sports, health and wellness expo is this Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Bossier Civic Center. It runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and there's no cost for admission.

If you've never been to Sign Up Saturday, you'll find activities designed to promote active lifestyles and better health practices for kids. You can sign your children up to participate in youth sports, dance, martial arts and other activities. You can even get their hearing and vision checked.

I have taken my daughter to this for the past two years in a row, and we plan to go again this year. Her favorite feature is the Body Walk, an enclosed walk-through exhibit representing the human body.

This is a one-stop-shop for families to meet directors from numerous programs in the area and decide which activities are best for them. Shots for Tots will also be onhand providing free immunizations.

The event is sponsored by the Bossier Healthcare Foundation, SportsCare USA, the City of Bossier City, Bossier City Parks and Recreation, Bossier Federal Credit Union and Specialists Health System.
