Shreveport Police Seeking Man for Stolen Car Chase
Late last month, Shreveport Police were called to help the Bossier City Police find a stolen vehicle.
The car's tracking device was pinging in Shreveport, and SPD was canvassing the area to find it. SPD were able to locate the car, but the driver took off at high speeds, running off the road, and nearly hitting a Police car. Officers lost sight of the car, and the search was on.
A few minutes later, the car was spotted speeding in a different area of the city. The Officer who spotted the car tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect took off again, driving recklessly, and at a high speed.
SPD started an investigation and interviewed witnesses, and were able to identify the suspect as Curite Adams. Adams is suspected of stealing the car from Bossier and fleeing from Officers in Shreveport. Adams and several co-conspirators are said to have driven around Shreveport throwing the owner of the car's belongings out of the windows of the car and damaging the car to try and conceal identifying information.
Adams currently has active warrants for:
· 2 counts of Aggravated Flight from an Officer
· 1 count of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things over $25,000
· 1 count of Obstruction of Justice
From SPD:
"Investigators note that Adams has ties to Tyler, TX, and Dallas, TX.
The Shreveport Police Department reminds the public that fleeing from law enforcement is extremely dangerous and urges anyone with information regarding this incident to contact Shreveport Police at 318-673-7300 or Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373."
