Shreveport Woman Arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter
On Saturday, Shreveport Police were called to the intersection of Tate Street and Broadway Avenue to reports of a major accident involving a motorcycle.
When SPD got to the scene, Paramedics with the Shreveport Fire Department were already on the scene giving medical aid to the driver of the motorcycle. The man was rushed to the hospital where he later died. The man was identified by the Caddo Coroner as 41 year-old Kendrick Williams.
Due to the severity of the accident, the Shreveport Police Department Crash Investigations Unit responded to the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Camry that collided with the motorcycle was identified as 22 year-old Victoria Jones. Investigators were able to determine that Jones was traveling south on Broadway. When Jones approached the Tate Street intersection she struck Williams on his motorcycle.
Jones was not injured in the crash, and was taken to SPD's DWI Office where her blood and breath were tested. Both tests determined that Jones was intoxicated. Jones was arrested and booked for one count of Vehicular Homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
