Shreveport Teen Challenge, part of Teen Challenge International, is holding its 3rd Annual Walkathon on Saturday (May 17). It starts at their resident home at 452 Stoner Avenue (the corner of Stoner & Highland) in Shreveport.

According to Lt. Bill Davis of the Bossier Sheriff's Office, "The home takes in men 17 years and older who are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction where they go through a healing process in a Christ-centered environment for about four months. Amazing transformations!"

"I am writing a story on the program and am simply impressed," he added. "Obviously, working in law enforcement, we see a lot of people whose lives have been destroyed by substance abuse."

There is a $25 registration fee, and or sponsorship, which includes a tee shirt, lunch and a concert.

Registration starts at 9 a.m., and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
