Shreveport Suspect Arrested for the Hit-and-Run of a Child

On Thursday, May 5th, 2022 at 3:48p.m. officers responded to Jewella Avenue and Silver Pine Boulevard on reports that a child was struck by a vehicle.

Henderson alleged struck the child with a vehicle and fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving on the scene.

Henderson was booked into Shreveport City Jail for the offense of Felony hit and run.

Arriving officers located a 12-year-old female lying in the roadway. The child was transported to a local area hospital by Shreveport Fire Department with serious injuries and is now in stable condition.

The Shreveport Police Department Crash Investigations Unit responded to the scene and determined that the child exited a school bus at this location and was attempting to cross the street when struck by a silver SUV.

The driver of the SUV stopped briefly and exited his vehicle, and a passerby was able to take photos of the suspect. The suspect then fled the scene prior to police arriving.

On May 14^th, 2022 Shreveport Police officers arrested Mantrevious Henderson (3/14/1996) at 9100 Walker Road, in reference to the May 5^th, 2022 Hit and Run that injured a child.

Henderson alleged struck the child with a vehicle and fled the scene prior to law enforcement arriving on the scene.

Henderson was booked into Shreveport City Jail for the offense of Felony hit and run.
