SHREVEPORT, LA - I have been ranting and raving about street lights in Shreveport for years. I understand it is tough to keep up with all of the lights in the city. But I think we need to make it a priority on our major highways like I-20 and 3132.

Almost every morning I notice lights out on I-20 are out. It's typically a problem near the fairgrounds.

Shreveport is taking steps this weekend to get the lights back on .

The city is closing the eastbound I-20 lane on Sunday, August 27th at about 6 PM. This will only impact the eastbound inside lane from Linwood Avenue to Fairfield Avenue.

Crews will be up on the interstate repairing the streetlights in the median on I-20. Work is expected to be wrapped up no later than 6 AM Monday morning.

Motorists are urged to use caution in this area while the work is happening.

I have noticed some of the lights on I-20 westbound have been repaired. But all of the lights between Hearne and Jewella westbound were still out on Friday morning. City crews are also expected to be working on that area in the next few days.
