Shreveport’s Newest Mexican Restaurant Is Now Open
SHREVEPORT, LA - The onetime Cantina Laredo in southeast Shreveport closed a few months ago, but now the business is back open under new ownership and a new name.
Casa Jimador owner Ramiro Gutierrez purchased the business which is located in the Shoppes at Bellemead on Youree Drive. His team has given the business a fresh new look and reopened the doors.
Gutierrez tells the Shreveport Bossier Journal
“I love the location and I have a lot of respect for the people of Shreveport. I will do my best.”
The new restaurant is called Casa Cantina, a tribute to his Casa Jimador’s success combined with the longevity of Cantina Laredo.
Cantina Laredo was open at that spot for 18 years.
Gutierrez says “We’re going to have the same concept at both places. We will be sister restaurants.”
If you want to give this new spot a try, here are some of the specialties you might want to check out:
Favorite Appetizers:
Surf and turf dip
Loaded Guacamole with bacon and cheese
Shrimp Ceviche
Entree Specialties:
Chimichanga Balboa has chicken beef and shrimp inside a tortilla and deep fried.
Several specialty enchilada options
Great salad options including a taco salad, a fiesta salad and even a tropical salad with oranges, grapes, strawberries and much more.
I've also heard great things about the shrimp soup which includes rice, avocado and pico de gallo.
