Shreveport Man Sentenced to 40 Years for Shooting 2 Year-Old
A man convicted earlier this month for shooting a sawed-off shotgun at an SUV during an altercation and injuring a 2 year-old has been sentenced in Caddo Court.
Back in 2020 SPD was called out to Wagner Street to reports of a shooting. When Police showed up to the scene, they found an SUV with broken windows and bullet-holes. According to witnesses, Robert Mack Whitaker pulled a sawed-off shotgun out and shot at the SUV. Pellets from the shotgun shell hit the 2 year-old along with glass from the closed window.
After being convicted, Whitaker got sentenced to 40 years at hard labor with credit for time served without the possibility of parole, probation, or suspension. Whitaker can no longer own a gun after release and can't contact any of the victims in this case.
