Shreveport Police Make An Arrest In The Death Of A Toddler
Shreveport Police have made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a toddler. Police arrested 19-year-old Jaylin Jones of Shreveport just before 12pm this afternoon. Jones is charged with one count of Negligent Homicide and one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Before 9am this morning, police responded to a home in the 3800 block of Elmer Lane, after reports that a child was shot. Police found a young child, reportedly between two and three years old, suffering from a "serious gunshot wound". The child was rushed to the hospital, but died from his injuries before 12pm.
Jones was taken into custody at 11:45am, just as news was breaking that the child had died from his injuries.
