Peli Con Prioritizes Comic Artists, Welcomes Legendary Inker Roland Paris This Fall

Comic book and comic con fans in the Shreveport and Bossier City area have an opportunity to scratch their convention this weekend. Fans looking to get in on some comic con action can find it just a few hours south at this community focused gathering.

This hidden gem event is taking place just outside of Baton Rouge...a drive manageable enough for a quick Saturday trip or an overnight stay. This convention provides a focused alternative to larger regional pop culture shows.

Peli Con 2026 Brings Top Artists to Denham Springs

Peli Con 2026 is happening in Denham Springs this Saturday, September 26th, 2026. The Anthony Dugas Recreation Center serves as the host venue for the show.

This particular comic con style show operates with a highly artist friendly attitude. The floor layout prioritizes comic book creators over celebrity autographs or photo opportunities.

Louisiana favorite Roland Paris headlines the list of special guest artists attending this weekend.

Roland has become a Louisiana comic book hero over the years. He is a professional comic book veteran with over 25 years in the biz! He honed his skills at the awesome Ringling School of Art and Design, and has spent time inking some of the biggest names in comic book history.

His art has been featured on titles like Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men, X-Force, She Hulk, and Ms. Marvel.

More recently, one of Roland's contributions to the comic book world has started to really pick up steam. He worked on Amazing Spider-Man #654, the first appearance of Agent Venom. Meaning he was one of the first artists to ever work on the character. As Agent Venom gains more popularity, Roland's work on the character's creation gets more and more attention.

So you will be able to get you copies of Amazing Spider-Man #654 signed by Roland at this year's Peli Con event!
