See the Shreveport Police Body Cam Footage of Arrest of Local Mom
All of the police body camera footage has been released in connection to the arrest of a Shreveport woman over the 4th of July weekend.
More information has now been released about the arrest of Calvinini White at the Village Square apartments. Police responded to a domestic disturbance call just before noon. When the officers arrived, White told them her boyfriend, Tommy McGlothen had taken her PlayStation 5 without consent. That led to an argument between them.
The police report says:
"McGlothen was detained and placed in Officer A. Brown vehicle, while Ms. White was seated in my patrol car. She mentioned that she had proof of ownership for the PlayStation and that this was an ongoing issue between them. Brown spoke with McGlothen and then advised he was going to go upstairs and look at the conditions of the apartment with her."
The report also indicates McGlothen expressed concerns about the living conditions inside the apartment. The 3 children living there are his children with White. McGlothen told the officers the place was infested with roaches and he also claimed household chores, such as laundry, were neglected.
McGlothen says he stays in the apartment sometime and tries to clean up when he’s there, but he told the officers he does not live at the apartment. He went there on the 4th to get White to babysit while he went to work. The children in this case are ages 4, 3 and 5 months.
McGlothen also asked White to watch his other daughter, but she said no. That’s when he told her he was going to take back his Playstation and stop helping with bills.
The officers then decided to inspect the apartment.
The police report says
"Upon entering the home, I observed numerous roaches on the floors, walls, and ceilings. There were also trash bags filled with garbage and bugs flying around. Ofc.Brown contacted CPS and I contacted juvenile Det. Booze who came on to scene to assist. Booze advised me to charge White with 3 counts of Neglect of Family. The children were placed into their father Tommie McGlothen’s custody."
The detailed report also describes roaches crawling on the children’s bed and crawling all over the floors, walls and ceilings.
The report says the apartment was heavily cluttered, with piles of items covering most of the furniture. Three children were found to be sharing a single bed that was visibly infested with roaches. Police decided to contact Child Protective Services.
White was detained in the back of a marked patrol unit and placed under arrest.
The report says “there was no indication that any effort had been made to clean her individual unit, remove trash, sanitize dishes, or address the infestation. The refrigerator was observed to contain mold and spilled food.”
CPS and both parties reached an agreement to let McGlothen take the children as White was transported to the Shreveport City Jail for booking.
