Shreveport Police Seize Stolen and Illegal Firearms
The Shreveport Police Department is continuing its mission to remove firearms from individuals who are legally prohibited from owning them. Their ongoing efforts help ensure the safety of the community by taking more illegally-owned guns off the streets.
On August 11, officers made contact with Dave Benard, born on January 29, 1989. A subsequent investigation revealed Benard was in possession of a stolen firearm. A deeper look into his background showed that he is a convicted felon, prohibited from possessing a weapon due to a previous armed robbery conviction and multiple prior convictions for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
