Shreveport Couple Accused of Using Medicaid Funds to Live Lavish Lifestyle
A Shreveport couple is in hot water today for allegedly taking advantage of a federal program.
Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) have arrested a Shreveport couple accused of defrauding the state’s Medicaid program while living a lavish lifestyle that included a luxury car, a custom swimming pool, and cosmetic surgery.

Lavish Purchases Include $94K Swimming Pool
Investigators say 42-year-old Ebony Taylor and her husband, 39-year-old Andre Jackson, secretly earned hundreds of thousands of dollars over several years while continuing to collect Medicaid benefits.
According to the LBI, the couple built a high-end residence on a one-acre tract in Caddo Parish, which parish records list at a taxable value of $656,270 for 2025.
In 2022, they reportedly spent $94,000 on the installation of an in-ground swimming pool with a jetted spa at their home. At the same time, records show extensive spending on luxury goods, vacations, restaurants, jewelry, and even cosmetic surgery in Texas.
BMW Purchase Raises Red Flags
That same year, LBI says Taylor financed a 2023 BMW X5 for $80,024, with monthly payments of $1,480 — despite claiming little to no income on her Medicaid applications.
Mortgage records also showed Taylor had reported a $15,000 monthly income on a loan application and disclosed a bank account containing $350,000, far above Medicaid eligibility limits.
Investigation Uncovers Widespread Fraud
The Louisiana Department of Health flagged suspicious activity, prompting the LBI investigation. Officials say Taylor falsely reported earning just $750 bi-weekly and failed to report her marriage or Jackson’s income. Jackson, investigators say, also claimed no income from 2017 through 2023 while receiving Medicaid benefits.
Financial records revealed the couple owned multiple tracts of land in Caddo Parish and enjoyed yearly incomes in the hundreds of thousands. Authorities estimate they defrauded the Medicaid program of approximately $127,000 between 2017 and 2025.
Arrests and Charges
On September 10, 2025, LBI agents arrested Taylor and Jackson on warrants for Government Benefits Fraud. They were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Attorney General Liz Murrill reacts to these arrests:
“It’s pretty bold to buy a new pool, BMW, and plastic surgery while defrauding our Medicaid program. The hardworking men and women of Louisiana paid for their extravagant lifestyle, and now they’ll be brought to justice.”
No bond has been set, and officials say the investigation is ongoing. Additional charges could be filed.
