Just after 7:00 a.m. January 24, 2017, Shreveport Police were called to a reported shooting in the 4300 block of West 70th Street. When officers arrived, they discovered 51-year-old Stanley Jackson inside his car suffering a gunshot wound to the head. Cpl. Marcus Hines, spokesman for the Shreveport Police Department, tells us what happened next.
Shreveport Police detectives arrived at the scene and immediately began to probe what circumstances led to the tragic ordeal. Based on preliminary information, it was learned that Jackson was present at his home in the 900 block of Winter Garden Drive, when two unknown men, one of which was armed with a handgun attempted to rob him. During the attack, it is believed one of the suspects shot Jackson before fleeing the scene. Following the shooting, Jackson somehow managed to drive himself to the 4300 block of West 70th Street, where he was located. At current, investigators are seeking to identify and apprehend those persons responsible for the crime.
