Time to Speak Up About Shreveport Needs
SHREVEPORT, LA - Local leaders are in the middle of putting together a wish list of possible improvements needed in Shreveport. A citizens committee has been listening to reports from city department heads about critical needs in our city.
Now it's time for you to speak up about the projects that matter most to you.
Community meetings will be held over the next couple of weeks to listen to your top priorities.
The Shreveport Capital Improvements Committee will host a series of community meetings throughout the city. The objective is to get input on possible bond projects. If you cannot attend one of the meetings, you may submit your concerns by going to the City’s website (www.Shreveportla.gov) and completing the form.
Meetings Scheduled for This Week:
October 4th, Wednesday
Jackson Building Auditorium
3050 Martin Luther King Jr., Drive
October 5, Thursday
Louisiana State University
One University Place
Two additional meetings will be held next week. They are planned for Oct 10th and 12th. Details on the locations will be released later this week.
All meetings are open to the public and you will be given an opportunity to speak to the committee.
Once the committee wraps up its work, they will present a list of priorities to the administration. That list will then go to the city council before being pared down or modified before being sent to the voters in the spring.
The items being discussed range from water and sewer infrastructure to new pools at city parks and millions of dollars in street repairs.
