Shreveport Residents Still Complaining About Yellow Water
SHREVEPORT, LA - Shreveport residents are reporting problems with water again this week. Discoloration is a problem in several neighborhoods.

The City of Shreveport Issued This Statement:
As Water and Sewerage crews and contractors continue to lower manganese levels, we are intensifying our strategic pipe-flushing efforts to expedite water turnover. We have increased and amplified our testing to better assist with treatment adjustments.
The city is also "cleaning and washing the water basins and expect to complete this work by the end of the week. Residents who still notice discoloration should see improvement."
What If You Still Have Yellow Water?
If you still have discoloration in your water, you are urged to contact the Water and Sewer Department at 318-673-7600 or report your concern online at www.shreveportlawater.gov.
For the past month, the city has been flushing water mains across the city. They are working to bring manganese levels down and have been ramping up strategic flushing efforts to help speed up water turnover.
Extra water sampling and adjustments in treatment methods are continuing until this problem is solved.
But residents are reminded this water is still safe to drink and use for all needs.
