30 year-old Gregory Underwood had pleaded guilty to an amended charge of aggravated assault with a firearm and to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. For the gun possession charge, Underwood was sentenced to 15 years in prison at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. For the assault charge he must serve the maximum term of 10 years concurrently.

Back in March of last year, Shreveport Police were called to reports of a carjacking on I-20 near Monkhouse Drive. When SPD got to the scene, Officers spoke with the victim, who told them that Underwood shot at her before pulling her out of the car on to the side of the interstate.
