Fast Food Expansion in Shreveport – 2 Big Changes
SHREVEPORT, LA – The fast food landscape is changing in Shreveport in the next few months. We will have a new chicken franchise opening up and a local burger restaurant is moving just down the road on Shreveport Barksdale Highway.
What New Restaurant Is Coming to Shreveport?
KEEL News has learned Golden Chick will be opening up a restaurant at the corner of Shreveport Barksdale and Knight Street. The owners of the franchise operation in Shreveport will be remodeling the old Exxon service station in front of the Walmart for the chicken operation. We have noticed cleanup has started at that location. But we have not seen any new construction yet.
What Is Golden Chick?
They are a fast food restaurant service fried chicken and roast chicken meals. The company website says
Golden Chick has been in the business of serving up delicious chicken, fresh salads, and multiple side dishes for over 50 years. We’ve built our reputation on convenient locations, unique and memorable building styles, and an unbeatable menu.
Currently Golden Chick only has one restaurant open in Louisiana. It is in Baton Rouge. But the company is planning to bring locations to New Orleans, Lafayette and Lake Charles.
Another Fast Food Restaurant is Moving
We have also learned the Wendy’s location in Shreve City is moving just down the road to the corner of Dee Street and Shreveport Barksdale Highway. Construction at that site has already started and we would expect the new restaurant to be open in just a couple of months.
No word yet on what will happen with the old Wendy’s location.
