Shreveport Man Arrested for Extortion in Sex Assault Case

Back in late August, Shreveport Police Responded to reports of a sexual assault.

Officers were able to make contact with the victim at a local hospital and began their investigation. After investigating SPD Detectives were able to identify Matthew Sandifer as a suspect in this case.

While the investigation in to the second-degree rape allegations were ongoing, Sandifer was arrested on one count of extortion related to the case. Detectives allege that Sandifer sent threatening messages to the victim to try and coerce them in to dropping the rape charges.
