Shreveport Domestic Dispute Leads to Battery of an Officer
Last Friday evening, Shreveport Police got a call from Altus Loop reporting some kind of domestic situation.
When SPD showed up, they found out that the fight was between a woman and her adult daughter. Officers started the investigation, but the mother, Quashayvea Washington, started to swing flailing punches at the SPD officers. During the scuffle, Washington shoved an Officer in to a glass window. The situation got so out of control, that an Officer had to use a taser to get Washington to stop fighting.
After Washington was arrested, she was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She was charged with one count of domestic abuse battery, two counts of battery on a police officer, and two counts of resisting an officer with violence.
From SPD:
"This incident had the potential to end far worse. We are grateful that no serious injuries occurred and commend our officers for their professionalism and restraint in handling a volatile and dangerous situation."
