Shreveport Council Will Hear Mayors Plan to Borrow Money to Fund Arena [POLL]
Shreveport is on the short list of cities to land an NBA G-League team, a branch of the New Orleans Pelicans. Mayor Ollie Tyler has been putting together a plan to build an arena in the Cross Bayou area for the team.
It would cost about $25 million.
The Mayor is asking the city council to approve her plan to borrow the money if Shreveport is chosen to be the home of the team.
We talked with Shreveport Councilman Michael Corbin about the Mayor's proposal.
The proposal will be hashed out today and tomorrow. A final vote could come on September 12th.
