Super Safety Saturday is coming back around again. The Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier is holding its fourth annual event at Sheriff's Safety Town from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, September 21st.

The annual event combines family fun with educational activities to teach children about a variety of topics, from bicycle and sports/water safety to health care.

Kids and their parents can explore and learn about severe weather and fire safety in the Sheriff's Safety Town Fire and Weather House, pedal their bikes through the Safety Town neighborhood and participate in the Bike Rodeo to practice the rules of the road. Kids will need to bring their own bikes for that event. Helmets will be provided to those who don't have one.

You can also learn about water and internet safety, health food choices and more at the Health & Safety Fair. Get an up-close look at emergency vehicles, race cars, motorcycles and more at the Touch-a-Truck exhibit. And first responders will be onhand to conduct free child car seat inspections to ensure the proper fit and installation of your child's safety seat.

But that's not all! Local entertainment and jump houses for the kids will make up the Family Fun Zone. Refreshments and vendors will also be on-site, and the first 500 children to visit all the designated areas within their supplied Pitstop to Safety Pass get a free goody bag.

Sheriff's Safety Town is located at 8910 Jewella Avenue. Visit the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier website for more info.
