Last week, Shreveport Police officers were called to a local business in reference to a reported fire.

When SPD got to the scene, Officers learned that a man had an altercation with a store clerk. After leaving the business, witnesses told SPD the man allegedly set trash on fire in a lot next door, which is also owned by the same business.

Officers searched the area and was able to locate the suspect on Busby Street. Police identified Daniel Unsworth as the suspect and he was taken into custody without further incident.

He has been charged with:

· Simple Arson

· Criminal Trespass

· Resisting an Officer

"The Shreveport Police Department takes incidents involving fire very seriously, as they pose a significant risk to property and public safety. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The investigation remains ongoing.
