Shreveport Police Arrest Man for Arson and Stolen Firearm

Shreveport Police have arrested a man following a house fire earlier this month.

Just after 1am, SPD and SFD responded to a fire on Highland Avenue. When they got there, the house was fully engulfed in flames. SPD found 34 year-old Justin Emerson at the scene.

After a short investigation by the Shreveport Police and Shreveport Fire Department, they determined that Emerson had allegedly started the fire intentionally. Emerson was arrested, and while he was detained, Police found him to be in possession of a stolen gun.

"Emerson has been charged with one count of aggravated arson and one count of possession of a stolen firearm. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail."
