Shreveport Man Arrested for Drugs and Gun Following Warrant Execution

The Shreveport Police Department has taken a violent offender into custody following an operation on Penick Street.

Officers were assisting in the execution of an arrest warrant on Penick Street when they made contact with a man inside a vehicle behind the home the warrant was issued for. SPD Officers found a large amount of drugs and a gun.

Detectives responded to the scene and conducted follow-up interviews. The man was identified as Mario Jackson, who was found to have outstanding warrants issued by SPD Homicide Investigators.

Further investigation revealed the firearm in Jackson’s possession had been reported stolen.

Jackson was taken into custody and booked on the following charges:

-Possession of Schedule I Narcotics with Intent to Distribute

-Possession of Schedule II Narcotics with Intent to Distribute

-Illegal Carrying of a Weapon with a Controlled Dangerous Substance

-Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

-Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Officers seized a.40 caliber semi-automatic handgun with ammunition and magazine, Approximately 453 grams of marijuana, and Approximately 15 grams of powder cocaine.

All contraband was collected and secured as evidence.
