The Shreveport Police Department has arrested a man in connection with an investigation involving a juvenile victim.

Back in January, SPD Detectives were told of the indecent behavior while interviewing a runaway juvenile who had been located. During the investigation, statements were made that led Police to believe the 14 year-old juvenile had engaged in sexual activity with an adult and had been given marijuana by that same man.

A Sexual Assault Forensic Exam was conducted, and evidence was collected. Devin Clarkson was identified as the suspect and was later contacted by SPD. After being read his rights, Clarkson said he knew the victim but denied any sexual contact. He voluntarily gave a DNA sample.

Further forensic analysis confirmed Clarkson’s involvement.

Yesterday, SPD found Clarkson at his home, where he was taken into custody. During the arrest, a large amount of marijuana was in plain view inside the home.

Clarkson has been charged with the following:

- Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile

- Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile

- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

- Possession of Marijuana Over 15 Grams

From SPD:

"This case highlights the serious and ongoing commitment of the Shreveport Police Department to protect juveniles and hold offenders accountable."
