Shots Fired At SPD During Friday Chase On Shreveport Streets
An overnight car chase in Shreveport involved shots fired at Shreveport Police.
KTBS reports the chase started just before 3AM Friday morning when SPD officers attempted to pull over a vehicle. As the suspect fled, police began pursuit.
During the chase on Shreveport streets, the suspect reportedly fired multiple shots at Shreveport Police. No officers were struck, but shots did hit a police car.
The chase eventually ended on West 77th Street, near St. Vincent. The suspect was taken into custody at that point. No full description on the suspect has been made available, only that he is a male suspect.
Reports say over two dozen officers were involved in the chase.
The suspect's vehicle was described as a grey or silver Pontiac car. The identity of the suspect was not immediately available.
Police has also not released the reason for the initial attempt at a traffic stop.
