Sheriff on DeSoto Murder Search: ‘Expect to Have It Wrapped Up Quickly’ [VIDEO]
DeSoto Parish Sheriff Jayson Richardson talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright about Monday afternoon's murder, in which a local man allegedly shot and killed his twin brother and wounded an area woman.
Richardson tells KEEL listeners that Treavor Williams is currently being sought by area law enforcement agencies and is considered armed and dangerous. Richardson says the hunt is ongoing. "We do have some leads we are following. We expect to have him in custody fairly quickly."
The official release from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Department:
"On April 29, 2019 shortly before 5:00 p.m., the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle crash on LA Highway 175 and Howard Lane in Frierson, LA. Further information indicated that two individuals on the scene had suffered from apparent gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the injured subjects had been shot by a suspect who had fled the scene. Both gunshot victims were transported to an area hospital. One of the victims did not survive and the second was reportedly in serious condition. This is an ongoing homicide investigation and details will be provided as they become available. As of 6:25 p.m. DeSoto Parish Investigators have been able to identify the suspect in the shooting as Treavor Marcel Williams (B/M - DOB 09/06/1990) of Shreveport, LA. Please see the attached description below. Treavor Marcel Williams is currently wanted for 1st Degree Murder and Attempted 2nd Degree Murder in DeSoto Parish and is considered armed and dangerous. He was last seen driving a black 1996 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a Louisiana plate tag of C534536.
