Serial Theft Suspect “Fire Exit Lady” Arrested by Shreveport Police

Target on Youree Drive has had a problem for the past 18 months. That problem? "Fire Exit Lady"...

Until her capture on February 10th "Fire Exit Lady" was like a sticky-fingered cryptid to both Target employees and Shreveport Police. Police were not able to identify her or catch her for over a year. "Fire Exit Lady" would enter Target, grab stuff off the shelves, and bolt out of the store's fire exit (hence the name).

Well, SPD finally caught up to the mysterious thief. An employee recognized her and called the Police. When Police showed up and tried approaching her she ran away leading to a chase through the store and parking lot.

Police finally were able to catch her by using a taser to get, and keep her down. "Fire Exit Lady" was finally identified as Catreece Madison. Madison was charged with one count of felony theft for this month's spree when she was arrested, but SPD did their homework on her and found some priors.

SPD released this information:

"A review of her criminal history revealed four prior theft convictions, three of which were issued before her first known theft at Target on September 7, 2023. Her fourth conviction occurred on October 27, 2023. Due to her habitual offender status, detectives also charged Madison with 18 additional counts of Felony Theft—one for each theft committed at the business between September 7, 2023, and January 26, 2025.
