We Pause to Remember September 11 in NW Louisiana
SHREVEPORT, LA - The nation will pause on Monday to remember a tragic day in our country's history. Bossier City leaders are inviting the public to attend the annual September 11th Memorial on Monday.
This somber event is sponsored by Keep Bossier Beautiful and the City of Bossier City. It will take place at 9:00 in the Liberty Gardens at the Bossier City Complex in front of the Police Station.
Who Will Be Speaking?
Mayor Tommy Chandler will offer welcome remarks.
The program will recognize an Essay winner from a Bossier Elementary school on “What is a Hero.” USAF Captain Dylan Lecce will introduce the guest speaker, Lt. Colonel Oliver Jenkins, a retired U.S. Marine who also served on the Shreveport City Council. The Barksdale Honor Guard will Post the Colors.
Pastor James McMenis will offer prayer to kick off the program.
If you are looking for a place to take a minute to remember this horrific day, you are encouraged to attend. Bossier City is also urging all local Fire, Police and First Responders to attend this event, as well.
