United States Senator John Kennedy tells 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty that the time has come to make major changes in the Medicaid system, specifically, that those "able to work" should be attempting to find employment as a condition of receiving benefits.

Kennedy says the point of his proposed changes is not to be "cold and heartless" and his reforms would protect the elderly, infirm and others unable to work. He also said he has contacted Governor John Bel Edwards, despite the Governor's expanding the Medicaid roles as one of the first actions of his administration.
