United States Senator Bill Cassidy talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty on a number of topics, including funding for to battle opioid addiction and the truth about the situation at the US, Mexican border.

Cassidy tells KEEL listeners about Louisiana health providers receiving nearly $7 million in grants to combat the opioid epidemic, including grants for hospitals and health centers in Northwest Louisiana.

The Senator also discusses his recent vote to address humanitarian conditions at the border and his legislation addressing immigration loopholes by strengthening "the integrity of the asylum process."

Cassidy also addresses the approach of Hurricane Dorian, preparations being made along the east coast of the US and his ongoing efforts to allow the use of $1.2 billion in flood mitigation funds by Louisiana to fund mitigation activities in areas that experienced presidentially declared disasters from 2015 to 2017.
