Bill Cassidy explains his reasons for changing his vote on the constitutionality of the Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.

Cassidy, who two weeks ago, sided with the all but five GOP Senators in saying the Senate trial of Trump was unconstitutional, this time joined the group in endorsing the hearing of the ex-Chief Executive.

In addition to Cassidy, the five Republican lawmakers who voted to move on included Senators Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania.

"I heard the (Democrats) arguments yesterday and their arguments were very good. In fact, President Trump's legal team basically admitted the House managers case - the constitutionality of it - was a great argument. They said that. They did a great job."

Cassidy then answers the question how the case made by House mangers, despite a lack of investigation, hearings and witnesses, plus the absence of the Chief Justice as spelled out in the founding document, is still legitimate.

"(Tuesday's) argument was, plain and simple, whether or not it is Constitutional for someone who is out of office to be impeached. Drawing upon precedent, drawing upon the Constitution...the House managers made the case. Then the Trump team got up and said (the House managers) did a great job and they changed their strategy  and then they didn't even address the issue at all."
