See the Top 55 Hospitals in Texas Named Among the Best in the Nation

A new report just released named America's Best Hospitals for 2024 listed and ranked the best medical facilities in the nation. Some of the best hospitals in the country featured in the list include UC Davis Medical Center, UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. 

Several hospitals in Louisiana make this list. See the list of Louisiana hospitals on the list here.  Most of the hospitals in the Bayou State making this list are in south Louisiana. Only one hospital in Shreveport-Bossier is honored.

Texas has 55 hospitals on this list. 18 of the Texas hospitals honored are in the Dallas Fort Worth metro area.  

The hospital rankings were compiled using various quality metrics from multiple sources, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the AHA Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, a nationwide online survey among medical professionals, results from HCAHPS patient experience surveys and a voluntary PROMs (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures) implementation survey. 

This report looked at online surveys from medical professionals, patient experience surveys and hospital quality metrics including safety, mortality and readmission. 

Naturally, the delivery of care and the quality can be very different depending on what facility you go to for services. This latest report from Newsweek and Statista looked at several measures to determine the best hospitals across the country. 

America's Best-in-State Hospitals 2025 features 700 hospitals across the U.S. 

Seventeen hospitals in Louisiana have made the list for 2025. 6 of those hospitals are in the New Orleans area. 3 of the top hospitals in the state are in the Baton Rouge area. 4 of the top hospitals are in the Lafayette area. No hospitals from Monroe or Alexandria make the list. 6 of the Louisiana hospitals on the list were granted "patient experience awards."
