Two Arrested Following Rolling Shootout Near a Shreveport School

Yesterday, Shreveport Police officers responded to reports of shots fired at the intersection of St. Vincent Avenue and Kings Highway.

When SPD got to the scene, Officers found several shell casings of different calibers in the road and began searching the area for witnesses. Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Homicide Unit were notified and responded to the scene to take over the investigation.

While SPD was working the scene, a male later identified as Rayveous Crawford arrived at Ochsner Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds to both legs. Crawford had been taken to the hospital by a family member.

LSU Police and SPD conducted an interview with Crawford. During that interview, Crawford was not cooperative talking about the incident.

Detectives later identified and located one of the vehicles involved, along with a suspect believed to be the shooter. Chrishun Morris was found at a home on Tierra Drive and was taken to the Violent Crimes Unit for questioning. Following the interview, Morris was arrested and charged with Obstruction of Justice.

During the investigation, SPD found a third vehicle believed to be involved in the incident on Creswell Avenue. The vehicle was impounded for further forensic processing.

Detectives returned to the hospital, where Rayveous Crawford was arrested and charged with Illegal Carrying and Discharge of Weapons.

This shooting happened across the street from St. Mark's Episcopal School and a Sportran Bus in the middle of the day. Thankfully no innocent bystanders were shot.
