The Kansas City Chiefs, for the first time in 50 years, are Super Bowl Champions. And regardless of what NFL team you pull for, I think everyone is happy that Andy Reid FINALLY won the big one. But, for us in the Ark-La-Tex and Louisiana, several of 'our' guys are now Super Bowl Champions.

For starters, the MVP of the game, Patrick Mahomes is an East Texas kid. The 24 year old superstar quarterback is from Whitehall, Texas right outside of Tyler. While Pat didn't have his best game last night, when the game was on the line, Mahomes put the team on his back and found a way to win.

New Orleans native and LSU star Tyrann Mathieu had a big game. He accounted for 6 tackles and disrupted San Francisco's passing game. Some other local and regional guys that now enter the hall of Super Bowl Champions include Shreveport native Mo Claiborne, LSU grads Spencer Ware and Darrel Williams and ULL standout Elijah McGuire. On the losing side, former Evangel Eagle Trent Taylor is a member of the San Francisco 49ers.

Congrats to everybody who played and contributed to their team making a Super Bowl. For 99% of players, their ultimate goal is to become a Super Bowl champion and last night, a lot of guys made that dream a reality.
