Farmer's Markets rule this weekend with the opening of Shreveport's Farmer's Market at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport and the return of one of Shreveport's most famous to the area!
Saturday is opening day for the long awaited Shreveport Farmer's Market in downtown Shreveport at Festival Plaza boasting over 100 vendors! Gates open at 7am and close at 12pm and admission is free. Plus, you can't beat the covered shopping with the crazy heat we've been having!
Did you know Hank Jr. aka Bocephus was born in Shreveport? Yep! And he's bringing all his rowdy friends to the MAD Amphitheatre in El Dorado Friday night at 7pm! This is a once in a life time kind of an event so get your tickets while they last! They start at $59.50 for general admission.
Grab some chairs or a blanket and bring the family to R.W. Norton Art Gallery for Twilight Talkies from 8-10pm Friday night. The event is free and tonight's movie is Moulin Rouge!. Food trucks will be onsite from 7-9pm, including BeauxJax, McCoy's Butcher Block, Sweetport and Music to Your Mouth.
This Saturday is the 1st Annual Tre'Davious White Football Youth Camp at Independence Stadium in Shreveport. White, a Green Oaks and LSU alum, is a cornerback for the Buffalo Bills and is offering the camp free for kids ages 8-16. Registration is at 8am and the camp runs from 9am-1pm. Lunch and beverages will be provided for the campers. Campers should wear shorts and t-shirts. Cleats are optional.
Join Special Olympics Louisiana Saturday at 10222 Linwood Avenue in Shreveport from 6am-2pm for their Rummage Sale to benefit the Special Olympic athletes in the Northwest area of Team Louisiana and help send them to Seattle in July for USA Games! They'll have home decor, Coach purses, clothes with the tags still on them, shoes, sewing machines, furniture, patio furniture, children and baby gear! Anything you could want, they say they've got it and a lot of the items are just $1.00!
