Newtown Church Evacuated After Death Threats

Mourners were forced into a panicked evacuation this afternoon after a death threat was phoned in, cops said. More than 400 attendees were abruptly ordered to empty St. Rose of Lima Church after state police told Monsignor Robert Weiss of the threats this afternoon.

"There's been a threat made against the church," Weiss told the stunned parishioners. "I need everyone to evacuate." The entire facility has been cordoned off and state police began a sweep of the area.
